Maps on iOS 6 wasn’t very popular but Maps on Mavericks comes packed with fun features from creating a journey on your Mac and sending it to your iOS devices which then gives you turn-by-turn navigation, to being able to check out points of interest to get information as well as a review from Yelp.īoth features I have grown to love but the experiences wouldn’t be complete without the delightful views such as flyover and the 3D interactive view. With battery life being a big issue on iOS devices I was anxious to see what Apple had done to improve the battery life with the introduction of iOS 7 and Mavericks. This simple feature is ideal for students and writers and if you are signed into iCloud your notes, reading progress, highlights and bookmarks will automatically sync with your iOS devices. It also allows you to share text via email, Facebook and twitter. IBook on the mac allows you to change the font style and size of the text as well as highlighting sections. iBook sync’s with iCloud creating seamless integration between your iOS and OS X devices. iBooks is now available on the Mac thanks to Mavericks. IBooks is Apples eBook appliaction which launched in March 2010 giving iOS user access to over 60,000 titles which has now increased to over 2 million books. With so many new features to explore I thought it best to run through my top 3 new features of OS X Mavericks. The introduction of OS X Mavericks will see over 200 new features bought to the Mac range and enhancements to help improve the battery life and performance. Mavericks was announced at the WWDC back in June this year.

Surprisingly on the 22 October Apple announced the OS will be FREE for existing Mac users and would be available to download via the Mac App store. OS X Mavericks is Apples latest operating system for their Mac computers.
